I AM: Harnessing the Power of Positive Affirmations for a Fulfilling Life

It’s so easy to compliment other women and lift our friends up when they’re feeling down, but when it comes to ourselves, we can be our harshest critic. I’m all for supporting each other, hell I champion it because I truly believe we are so much stronger when we’re all at the top celebrating life together, BUT we must be our #1 champion. No matter how many people are rooting for us, if we don’t believe in ourselves, we will never find true self-love.

The song “Da Girls” by Ciara, Lola Brooke, and Lady London, is the anthem for self-love! Throughout the song they spell out the word INDEPENDENT, and then it’s followed by “I am” affirmations. Being independent doesn’t mean never asking for help or going after things alone – for me being independent means prioritizing my well-being and what I want out of life. Being independently strong minded and confident in who I am and what I want to be.

Every morning I listen to positive affirmations before I start my workday. It helps slow me down and remind myself that I am all the things that I’m saying out loud. It’s a way for me to hit the reset button and focus on the day ahead vs the past. I can get so wrapped up into all the things I didn’t complete, the bad things I ate, comparing myself to others…and the list can just go on if I don’t stop and focus on all my greatness. (That felt REALLY GOOD to type…. “ALL MY GREATNESS!”) Please stop reading this for one second and say it out loud to yourself… “ALL MY GREATNESS!!!” I don’t know about you, but just saying those words put a smile on my face and I immediately started focusing on all the things I love about myself.

I understand not everyone is into positive affirmations and that’s okay if you can confidently walk through life with a positive lens of yourself every day. But just in case you need a little pick me up I recommend blasting “Da Girls” to be reminded…

“I am humongous, I am resourceful, I am much better than ever could be. I am the substance of everything hopeful, I am the proof of what’s never been seen. I am so beautiful, I am responsible, I am enough, and my soul is complete. More than just suitable, I am a conqueror. Worthy of love that is whole and complete. And that’s on ME.”

Remember you are your biggest cheerleader in this life – no matter the score you have to keep cheering yourself on and taking care of YOU.

Much Love.

Live You. Love You
